Robert Heaton’s Talk on Poole Maritime History

Robert Heaton will be giving us a very interesting talk on the Maritime and Archaeological History of Poole Harbour, the coastline area of Dorset and the wider area surrounding us.

Robert from Poole Maritime Trust and East Dorset Antiquarian Society is a local Surveyor heavily involved in research projects on land and sea across Dorset. New technology is bringing opportunity and discoveries, where we can build on our understanding of Poole’s extraordinary rich and fascinating past. Remotely operated vehicles and drones bring footage and help provide a new perspective for you to enjoy.

There is a strong connection between members of our club and former projects that have paved the way for some new exciting discoveries and undoubtedly more to come in the years ahead.

Archaeological work on sites in Dorset add so much to this story across many thousands of years. There is much to learn and enjoy in this journey through our beautiful county.

This will be a fascinating and absorbing talk with much to learn for us all.
