Nick Chavasse, RCC Pilotage Foundation’s guide Author

Nick Chavasse learned to sail on the Norfolk Broads aged six, and grew up sailing Wayfarers. He has been cruising for over 30 years in Western Europe and always finds himself back in Brittany. He is a dinghy and cruising instructor and sails a Bowman 40. He spent 20 years in the Army before setting up his own marketing company. He started researching and writing for the RCC Pilotage Foundation in 2015.
Nick’s talk covers the whole Atlantic coast of France, from Ouessant in the north to Hendaye on the Spanish border, this RCC Pilotage Foundation’s guide has been thoroughly revised and updated by Nick who has taken his Bowman 40, Wild Bird, into every main port and a multitude of anchorages, including explorations up the numerous navigable rivers. He will describe for us occurrences, ports and other aspects of these wonderful cruising grounds which are both reasonably accessible and relatively undemanding for the more and less experienced of boaters
