Man Over Board (MOB) Casualty Recovery Training 2nd Weekend FULL

April 15, 2023 - April 16, 2023

Bookings Now Closed, All Slots Allocated. See September Listing

PYC Cruising Section – in conjunction with Poole Sailing

Offers Man Over Board (MOB) Casualty Recovery Training

Object of the event
To give Cruising Yacht skippers/owners the opportunity to have own boat on-board tuition with a professional trainer.

Nature of the event
On four days there will be provided 6 slots of 1 hour each day, when the instructor will come on board and take the skipper and crew through the issues of MOB casualty recovery. PYC Cruising Section (PYCCS) will get the instructor to each boat at the allotted time.

PYCCS will have a named Event Controller who will keep in touch with boats by radio and deliver/collect the instructor.

Participating vessels will need to be out of the Haven and in the vicinity of the Designated Location reasonably before the allotted time.

Cost per boat
There is a subsidised booking fee of £35.00 which will seek to cover most of our costs. It will, however, be very good value.

Eligibility to participate
The PYCCS Committee have decided that it should only be open in the first instance to skippers and boats registered with PYCCS. There are currently 93 vessels in this category so we anticipate filling all the slots. In the event of over subscription names will be drawn out of a hat by an independent person. Should this eventuality occur then PYCCS will endeavour to fit unsuccessful skippers onto participating vessels with the permission of those skippers if this is wanted.
We expect to be able to announce soon when we are open for applications for places on the course.

Action in the case of inclement weather
In case of weather conditions which preclude the event from occurring, Poole Sailing will provide a 4 hour safety at sea course held in the Academy. In consequence no refunds will be available.

Further information
When we open for applications there will be an advisory note provided.
Successful applicants will be informed of their slot and a ‘What skippers should provide on board’ advisory note which Poole Sailing are setting out.
